Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry, allowing excess water to drain completely before watering again. Plant in a chunky, well-draining cactus or orchid mix that provides excellent aeration around the roots. Average household humidity is suitable, though this tropical cactus enjoys higher humidity and benefits from occasional misting or a humid environment. Keep temperatures between 60–85°F (16–29°C) and protect from frost. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer.
